Business Development Coordinator (Engineering/Mining)

The Company
BQE Water Inc. is experiencing an exciting period of growth and is seeking an enthusiastic team player to fill the newly created position of Business Development Coordinator (Engineering/Mining). Through technical innovation and engineering expertise, we help clients from the international mining industry to produce clean water and reduce their environmental footprint while potentially extracting mineral value from their wastewater. This enables them to meet stringent government regulations while operating in a socially acceptable way with a focus on water as a vital shared resource.
The Role
As a Business Development Coordinator (Engineering/Mining), you will join our talented team in the Growth Vertical and report to the Marketing Specialist. You have strong market research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise diverse sources of information into easily understood concepts and reports. You can demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, including technical writing, and have exceptional planning and attention to detail. Experience in a technical setting, backed up by a degree in engineering, science or business is preferred. This position requires a team player who is comfortable working independently, and able to adapt quickly to change.
In this role your time will be split between:
Market Research (50%)
- Investigating opportunities in the mining industry for our Growth Team by reviewing National Instrument 43-101 reports such as PEAs, PFS, and FS reports
- Using available online resources to assist in research, such as Northern Miner / mining.com, Prospector Portal, MineDat, SEDAR, etc.
- Preparing summaries of technical reports to inform the Growth vertical
- Knowledge of global mining, geology, geotech, watersheds, and Indigenous communities is an asset
Proposals (50%)
- Updating, maintaining, and monitoring leads in our CRM platform
- Assisting the early project lifecycle including proposals (EOIs, RFQs/RFPs), and early engagement projects (scoping studies, BATs, lab reports, integration assessments). Managing timelines, responsibilities, and deadlines to ensure high-quality, on-time submissions
- Facilitating solution discussions and coordinating contributions from cross-functional teams to align proposal content with project goals
- Crafting compelling and targeted responses tailored to client-specific needs and evaluation criteria
- Maintaining and enhancing the proposal content library, ensuring that materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with brand standards
- Refining processes, tools, and templates, and collaborating with Marketing and the Growth Vertical to enhance proposal impact
- Analysing proposal outcomes and lessons learned to improve future strategies
- Contributing to team efforts and helping with tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Desire for career in environment, sustainable mining, critical minerals, water treatment
- Master’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business Development, Marketing or similar, or Bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in engineering, geology, geotechnical, environmental, mining an asset
- 3+ years of experience writing, coordinating, and preparing proposals for complex pursuits
- Advanced writing and editing skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into persuasive, client-focused content under tight deadlines
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing deadlines
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed team
- Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), French language skills an asset

Compensation
$ 65,000 to 85,000 CAD per year based on experience, education and skillset for this full-time, in-person Monday to Friday position.
